Robbie and Denise lost their son - Drey - to suicide in 2012. Since then, they have dedicated themselves to helping others who are hurting from a suicide loss. In 2014, they launched LOSS Community Services in Columbus, Ohio. In 2022 they began Postvention Consulting, training others how to launch postvention services in their communities. Then, in 2023, they were given lossteam.com from Dr. Frank Campbell and continue working to see postvention services established across the country and around the world.

Dr. Neimeyer is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Psychology, University of Memphis, and maintains an active consulting and coaching practice. He also directs the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition, which provides both onsite and online training internationally in grief therapy.
